Resumen

Population aging has occurred extremely quickly in developing countries, resulting in a higher
prevalence of chronic degenerative diseases (NCDs,s). Among these, diabetes mellitus stands out, a
syndrome characterized by a chronic state of hyperglycemia and disturbances in the metabolism of
carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, associated with absolute or relative insulin deficiency and/or its action
in the body.
