Descriptive profile of patients treated at the Surgical Clinic: An analysis of the Brazilian Regions

Abstract

The Surgical Clinic is the sector responsible for receiving pre and postoperative patients. The profile of patients treated in a surgical clinic varies according to the health condition, however, a common characteristic is the need for surgical follow-up. Within the scope of the Unified Health System (SUS), surgical care in urgent and emergency situations is available 24 hours a day, supported by the Emergency Care Network, which aims to organize health care efficiently.
