Abstract

The Varicella Herpes Zoster virus (VZV) or Herpes Virus Type 3 (HHV-3) generally infects humans in childhood, causing chickenpox. Male patient, 43 years old, mixed race, with no previous comorbidities, unknown vaccination record, self-employed worker (salesman), seeks medical care in the emergency room of a tertiary hospital due to otalgia on the right that started 10 days ago, evolving with ipsilateral headache, dizziness, facial paralysis, xerophthalmia and vesicular lesions.
